Vocal Imitation and Learning by Macaques

In this class activity, students will analyze data from an investigation of the role of genetics and environment in the development of language. Students will learn about the effects of inter-species adoption on vocalization in macaques and will apply their understanding of statistical concepts (mean, standard error, standard deviation, Gaussian curves). This document includes student handouts; an instructor guide is provided in an accompanying document.
